Thermae 2OOO is one of the largest and best-known spa resorts in the Netherlands.
It offers unique spa baths with water from its own springs, saunas, skin and body care treatments, restaurants, and a hotel with 60 beautifully-decorated rooms overlooking the Geul Valley.
Thermae 2000 is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019 with the opening of a beautiful panoramic sauna complex, an extension with exclusive suites (2019), and an expansion of the hotel (2020). The food and beverages outlets will also be transformed and a unique marl cave experience will be created (2021).
Hotel Haarhuis opened its doors in 1918 as a coffee house and has since evolved to become one of the best-known hotels in the eastern part of the Netherlands. It has 124 rooms and suites, the ‘Perron 5’ bar and restaurant, and nine conference rooms that hold up to 440 people.
The hotel is situated in the centre of Arnhem, right next to the central station.
A major renovation of the existing facilities and the food and beverages outlets as well as an increase in the number of rooms is due to start in October 2019. The work will be finished by the end of 2021.
This building used to be a prison and was designed by Johan Metzelaar in 1886. It has had various roles over the years: from a prison institution to a jail, and then from a detention centre to a reception centre for asylum seekers. The next designation for this building in Arnhem will be a unique hotel with appealing catering concepts.
